I am a Child of God

Ok, something in trying to teach them "I am a Child of God", specially in Spanish to my mostly English speaking two years old, is talking about it before, it seems to work every time, what works best is something that goes like this. I bring up the print of Heavenly Father on top of the world and all the little faces (I printed them from the Super Little Singers CD ) and give each of the faces, and ask them, who is he? pointing at HF, and they answer, so I say and who are you?, and they say their names, but now they are getting the hint, so they also answer now, I am a child of God, and I go to each of them and tell them ".... you are a son/daugther of God" and they LOVE that, they go, Thank you, or yes! it is sooo cute! :) and then they pay more attention to the song and now after a couple of months of doing this, most of my regular nursery kids know the song! and I am just so happy :)

Bilingual Nursery

A bilingual nursery might be a little bit more difficult than just an English nursery, but regardless I don't think you can ever say "what a breezy day I had at nursery today" No, I don't believe that, you may be able to say "what a fun day today at nursery", or "wow, I actually got their attention for more than 5 seconds today, what a great day", but easy, highly doubt it.

Oh but what rewarding calling this is, if you are like me, in a room every Sunday for two and some hours in Nursery, you know what I am talking about, I don't think I've ever had so much fun on any of my previous callings, and to think I thought it was going to be just babysitting, oh how wrong I was, it is what you make of it right? so here I am trying to do my best, and ohhh those little ones are the ones that make it all good for me every Sunday.

So all I know really is that I don't know nothing, they teach it all to me, but little by little I am learning, little by little they are teaching me, and with this blog I hope I can pass all those little tricks they teach me, to all new Nursery leaders, just remember, always have fun and a good attitude, that is #1 Lesson I learned from them :)
